Paul began his Lipscomb career in May 2007 after 23 years in the insurance and investment industry. He graduated from Cumberland University in Lebanon, TN in 1987 with a degree in Business Administration. He became a Certified Financial Planner practitioner in 2003. He has been very active in community and charitable organizations through the years. He serves as song leader for the Maple Hill Church of Christ in Lebanon, TN. He and his wife, Lesa, have two children. In his role as CFP® and Director, Center for Estate and Gift Planning, Paul is able to assist the donor in making the best use of income and estate tax law while helping to further our mission to educate and "equip each graduate for leadership in the home, church and community." Associate Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations
J. Burton Williams, a Certified Financial Planner professional, joined Lipscomb University in January 2011 as Associate Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations. Williams manages the university's major gift and planned giving fundraising initiatives and assists with coordination of constituency-based fundraising strategies. Williams comes to Lipscomb after serving as associate vice president for university advancement at Freed-Hardeman University. His fundraising experience includes personally raising nearly $1 million annually from 2005 to 2010. Williams was instrumental in the successful completion of FHU's $80 million "Beyond Believe" campaign, including discovery of more than $47 million in planned gifts.Williams holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from FHU and a Master of Science in Financial Planning from the College for Financial Planning in Denver, Colo.
